Accessibility Statement
Last updated:
We want everyone to be able to learn about Hanson's Landing, Unit 15, regardless of ability or the technology they use. We are committed to making this website accessible and to continually improving the experience for all visitors.
Our approach
We aim to align this Site with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the widely recognized standard for web accessibility that also informs expectations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Steps we have taken include:
- Descriptive alternative text on images, so screen readers can convey what each photo shows;
- A "skip to main content" link for keyboard and screen-reader users;
- Clear, visible focus outlines so keyboard users can see where they are on the page;
- Labeled form fields on the contact form;
- Semantic page structure (landmarks, headings, and navigation regions);
- Readable color contrast and text that scales when you zoom;
- Respect for the "reduce motion" setting for visitors who prefer less animation.
Using this site
Most modern browsers and devices let you increase text size, zoom the page, enable high-contrast modes, and use a screen reader or keyboard navigation. This Site is built to work with those tools. The downloadable PDFs on the Site (association rules, lease materials) are provided for reference; if you need any of that information in a more accessible format, we are glad to help.
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time task. We review the Site periodically and make improvements as we are able. Some third-party content (such as an embedded map) may not be fully under our control, and we work to provide accessible alternatives where we can — for example, a plain text link to open the location directly in your preferred maps app.
